Perineal rupture is one of the complications that often occurs in normal delivery, which can affect the health of the mother after delivery. Parity, or the number of births a woman has experienced, is thought to influence the risk of perineal rupture . This study aims to evaluate the relationship between parity and the incidence of perineal rupture in normal delivery at the Mpunda Health Center in 2024. This study used an analytical observational design with a cross-sectional approach. Data were collected medical records of women who gave birth normally at the Mpunda Health Center. The variables studied included parity (primiparous vs. multiparous) and the incidence of perineal rupture, as well as control variables such as maternal age, birth weight, and use of episiotomy. The population was all primiparous mothers , namely 211 people . The sample was 42 people and used the Arikunto formula . Data analysis techniques included univariate analysis and bivariate analysis with the Chi Square test . Data analysis showed that there was a significant difference in the incidence of perineal rupture between primiparous and multiparous women. Primiparous women tend to be at higher risk of perineal rupture compared to multiparous women. Other factors such as birth weight and use of episiotomy also showed an association with increased risk of perineal rupture.
